LOL... Even I must admit that the above is a little too much in the "hype for Mexico" side, but I guess since we are here in the SI Universe, hype is expected....

Short of an incredible disaster, such as Holland losing three of his best, and Mexico going all out... I must take your prediction as a back lash against Goldfinger attitude...

Holland will be a hard team to beat, "Not a walk in the park".

The biggest problem with the Mexican team is their own self motivation and inspiration, Mexico is a country full of dramas and tragedies.... it is in their nature, and they live with it almost everyday, so in general while optimists, they are very "defeatists".

It is more or less (if you compare it to the Catholic Religion), like their "original sin".

If Mexico could get rid of this attitude, (particularly in sports), they would be a much different team. So far this is one of their best teams, and if they go out "inspired"... they will defeat Holland, the problem with the Mexican team attitude, is like the bullet in a Russian roulette game.... you never know when you are going to get the spark, (and bullet) to defeat the enemy.

There is a book cover in a book about Mexico, (I forget the author, who is a well known critic), that shows the picture of a Charro, [the Mexican cowboy], (big sombrero, big moustache, and gun), attempting to get up.... the problem (as with the nation itself), is that his boots are stepping on his own moustache, therefore, making it impossible for him to "get up"....

In other words, The Mexican is his own worst enemy....

To put it more bluntly, to picture how the Mexican mentality is and works, imagine the entire population of bb stock investors, (not only that of the SI Universe, but the absolute total. Then take out about 10 % which will probably be the ones that make some money.... the left over population thinks EXACTLY like 90 % of the Mexican nationals.

The other 10 % is more or less like the Market Makers, stock promoters/manipulators, brokers, etc.... all of them juicing the stupidity and idiotic belief on eternal future expectation of a "brighter Ma¤ana". Sad, but true. It is indeed the land of "Tomorrow" (Ma¤ana)

For years (long before the US), they have had this "Loter¡a Nacional"
(National Lotery), where the prices are staggering (in the millions), they run three weekly lotteries, and then they have "special events" where the prizes really go high...

They call the big prize "El Gordo" (the fat one)... and so, naturally everyone, I mean EVERYONE, buys tickets for the damned lotery, and it is an eternal hope, that never really dies, people who barely have any money to spare spend considerable amounts in buying tickets... oh and yes, of course, the lottery is run by the government, under the banner of : "para la Asistencia P£blica" (for the Public Assistance).

I guess you could say that such is a form of bulletin board stock market, and the sole regulator, and seller of all issues is "Pap  Gobierno" (Daddy Government), or the "House of PRI", the most effective Monarchy in Latin America. which to their credit, they have kept peaceful governments (until recently), as opposed to the bloody "Juntas" of the rest of the Latin American countries... the notable exception being Costa Rica who abolished their military in the 1940's.

Anyway, enough ranting....

As they say... [it is frustrating to be] "So near from the USA and so far from god" [good fortune].

In short, Mexico 5 x 0 Holland..... I wish, but I do not think so...
