JM-

I agree. With 8.6 million shares short and only 6 million shares of float plus rumors of hedge funds accumulating, this thing could go much higher before reality brings it down to earth. I would await until a rally on low volume with the close being lower than the open before considering any short position. IMHO.

P.S. I am not long or short. Don't want anything to do with it no matter how tempting.

You're welcome. But think for a minute, why not authorize a billion shares? Because that means nothing. All that matters is what the business behind those shares does. And what I see is a low margin business with competitive discounting cutting the margins even further, catering to a small audience with limited growth potential. Books are not, and unfortunately, will never be a mass market. Everybody and his dog are selling CD's. The fact that AMZN sells over the internet will soon mean little--even Wal-mart and JC Penney's do the same. Won't be long before the speculative frenzy goes elsewhere, a few people actually read the 10K, and AMZN finds its true value in the market. Don't know exactly when, but I've bought a few puts and plan to add more, with the longest expiration possible. In the meantime, this stock is indeed likely to run up for a while. Hope you and the other longs make a pile and get out in time.
