Downloading transactions to quicken

mbtrading supplies trading records daily as text. excel or any reasonable spreadsheet can read these files with minor tweeking.

quicken help documents it's import file (qif) format pretty well. you can write a simple macro or perl program to convert the spreadsheet into a quicken import file which quicken will read.

of course, i wouldn't complain if mbtrading would make this operation a little more straight forward. fer instance:

1. the files are not formatted in a really import friendly way. the spreadsheet requires some tweeking. this is easily overcome by making minor adjustments to the column arrangement of the file.

2. since the files are obviously generated automatically, it shouldn't be too hard to build a quicken import file out of them at the same time. the format is pretty simple.
