TG,
Then could what you are implying cause the stock price to remain at its low, in order to demotivate the holders in an attempt to get tham to sell the new shares when this happens? Which would mean NO price increase in the short term, and therefore no tremendous short squeeze?

Then your opinion is consistent with my "surmise" <grin>.

I reckon this might take a while, but could be real pretty if there is, for instance, a 3x naked short position. The first 1x could be converted to new shares in the standard fashion. But then the shorts who created the additional 2x in naked shorts will begin to buy new shares to cover. Under that scenario, each new share will change hands twice ... at whatever price the market demands ... before all the naked short old shares are converted.

Could be colorful ... though <caveat> I have no way of knowing for sure if there really is a naked short position.
