It seems like there was hope for the bulls, and hope for the bears in that interview. When he was asked about his statement in May about poor visibility, he said nothing had changed. But he also said he expects improvement in early 1999, rather than the late 1999 mentioned in a forecast that the interviewer read, if the Asian economies don't deteriorate further. Of course, that's a mighty big if, as we all know.
