I agree to a point. You absolutely have to have the right ot make bad choices. Otherwise, there is no point to the freedoms we are taling about. the exception is, your bad choice cant be unfairly effecting othere or trampling upon your rights. Also, your bad choice cant be as a result of someone unfairly trampling upon your own basic rights.

When we have a society as diverse as our own, the proptection of these varied rights becomes very difficult. Legislation is not always an option, but it is A option, and sometimes it is the best option.

Sometimes it is very difficult to support the rioghts of one, without the infringing on the rights of others. Remedies must be sought in those circumstances, but we must always be cognizant that the least of our society have the same rights to equal remedy in all situations.

I am a firm believer that the mark of a society is how it treats those that are least able to legitimitely help themselves. I think that is the true test of greatness. (let the flaming now begin:-) )
