Problem is there can't be one Gorilla. Somebody convince me otherwise. It's utter nonsense. Internet is open. In fact I think that there is less of an economic barrier than presented in other mediums. That's what so silly about what's happening.

Can you say NSCP? Can you say IOM?

No, I don't know when, but I do know what. Nice to get on at the ground floor of these manias. Wish I had.

HJM-
<< Wall Streets
conviction that given enough time Amzn will be the Gorilla of Internet commerce.>>
What if, say, Wal-mart decided to get serious about internet commerce. They can sell books , CD's, t-shirts, khaki dockers, cosmetics tires--whatever the yuppie might want. They open Son of Sam's Online Emporium and undercut Amazon and everyone else. I think they have the capital and staying power to buy plenty of market share.
Amazon is a loud little howler monkey and there are a lot of big gorillas coming over to see what the noise is all about.

RE: AOL

How AOL 'made it' in a world of $9.95 and less unlimited internet access is beyond me. I tried AOL to see what I could possibly be missing, and damned if I still can't figure it out!

Are people that computer illiterate that they will pay a premium to use AOL because they received a disk in the mail with a good installation program??
