Say how about a Veep's position at DELL???

Since you 'hurt easily' I try to make comments as gentle as possible,ok.<gg>

You said: 'Now you have to admit the asp's are coming down and Dell will have to make a move out of the commodity business and get a service org or some type of Internet play to keep growing. Then the problems will start.'

Have you ever thought about applying for a V.P position at DELL in the 'strategic planning division',I think you have talents now if only Dell could find it.

ASPs coming down

Don, in re your Now you have to admit the asp's are coming down and Dell will have to make a move out of the commodity business and get a service org or some type of Internet play to keep growing.

No, I don't have to admit that ASPs are coming down. I will agree that ASPs for the same product are coming down: that is a function of increased production and the pricing pressure of newer and better technology; but if I want new technology, the ASPs are NOT coming down. In fact, I have seen a couple of references lately that component prices are increasing.

And I certainly don't agree that DELL is in a commodity business. Not unless you stipulate that Ford, Mercedes, BMW and Rolls Royce are in 'commodity business'. First you define what you consider a commodity business, then we can discuss it with some meaning. It sounds to me as if you are parroting what some talking head said.

DELLish, 3.

Re: All I know is why the hell didn't I buy Dell like the rest of you geniuses when it was really a buy?

Because some people had exactly the same criticisms of Dell then as they do now, and they talked you out of it. Like you're still talking yourself out of it. So maybe its still a buy now????
