Thankfully, that side of my life is just fine (and helps me get a perspective on the stock trading). I'm referring to the hyping of small-float stocks that lose 50-60 percent of their value hours or days later. The promoter tells you he/she's buying, which is a lie because he/she has already bought well before the hype started, and never tells you when he/she is selling (which is usually when you're buying). One of the oldest tricks in the book, and like I said, I thought I was too smart to fall for it.

I am sorry to hear about the woman problems. I assume that is what you were referring to with the 'pump and dump' comment. Steve, I guess "pump and dump" could be a woman thing (LOL), but what Sowbug was referring to was an OTC BB stock (likely a penny stock). These stocks are often "pumped" up on these message boards as the next greatest thing since sliced bread. Then when they suck people in to buy the stock, the price rises, and they "dump" for a quick profit. If you happen to "gamble" a lot of money on one of these, you can obviously get crushed. Sounds like what happened to Sowbug. Or maybe it really was a woman? At least he would have enjoyed losing it all. :) Gary
