Better to buy at 13 and then sell all at 11 and step away. Worst thing new investors due is to average down. Second problem they make is to buy a stock that is moving down quickly. They think they can guess the bottom and when they see they are wrong the continue to think they can buy more because they can't imagine it going any lower. Problem is we have a market breaking out to new highs and good stocks are breaking out everyday. Instead you now have loses which are now big enough that you can't sell because the losses seem too great. so you will sit with it and wait until it goes back up to your high buy price, at least you can get your money out. I've never heard of anyone able to make money investing this way.
