zbyslaw,

NN announced the 36190 ATM switch last year and still it is not deliver this year. NN announced the AT&T deal recently saying that the deal has a lot of potential. In fact, only customer premises equipment are deployed while Ascend has AT&T's backbone ATM contract.

As for Sprint's recent contract, Sprint says that it chooses Cisco as a partner, why didn't Sprint say it chose NN as a partner?

By the way, what do you think of the Energy Contract? It seems a large contract. How do you understand that Wall Street did not like it at first? Can you share your view?

Thanks,

H.Wai

if you follow NN you can recognized that this company unlike others is very conservative and never announces technology which has not been tested.

zbyslaw, please tell me who announces technology which is untested.

NN never announces contract, unless is sealed. Take CSCO and receant announcment that Sprint is testing their equipment with possible deployment. Why CSCO did not say that others vendors will also provide their equipment for testing by Sprint. At that time NN has announced contract with Energy worht 200 mil.

Again, I think very few vendors announce contracts that aren't signed. As far as the CSCO/FON deal, FON announced that CSCO, Bellcore, and Radio Shack were their primary partners. Why should should CSCO announce that other vendors will provide equipment for testing? This may not even be true.

What does the FON announcement have to do with NN's contract with Energis?

What is important how customers will view the product before commiting real $.

I have no idea what this means.

Gary

Z.O,

Don't tell me you've taken your NN biases to the ASND thread now. It was bad enough in the NN thread !!

<,if you follow NN you can recognized that this company unlike others is very conservative and never announces technology which has not been tested>

Yes, I suppose your right there. NN only announces products that don't exist yet ...like the 36190, for example. It was announced AT LEAST 12 months ago, yet no one has one on a production network. Its predecessor, the 36170, suffered the same delays in shipments. It's hard to test soemthing that doesn't exist !!

Reality check, Z.O.. Next gen ATM switches from ASND and CSCO are doing damage to NN. The market is changing and NN is just not keeping up.

Cheers,

Peppe
