Here's another set of questions I was glad to answer for you Chris. Maybe after I've answer 100, you can answer one of mine. Is it true that before Islam came into existence the Sabeans in Arabia worshipped the moon god, who in turn married the sun goddess, who gave birth to three goddesses? Before Islam came into existence, Chris, the Arabs were pagan oriented. They worshipped 360 idols and prayed to clay, stone, and wooden figures. That is why when Muhammmad (Pbuh) came preaching the One and Only God Who created the Heavens and universe, the Arabs of that time tried numerous times to have him killed. He was spit upon, attacked, and wounded many times. The Arabs of that time offered him gold, women, and anything his heart would desire if he simply stopped preaching that Only One God existed and spoke of his Messengers. And to this Muhammad (Pbuh) replied:If you were to give me the sun in my right hand, and moon in my left, never by God would I give up this cause until God makes it victorious, or I die therein Is it true that these three were called Al-lat, Al-uzza and Manat and were worshipped as the "Daughters of Allah?" Before Muhammad (PBuh) came, there was no such thing as "Allah" which translates from the Arabic to mean 'The One and Only.' So, it is possible that before Muhammad (Pbuh), the Arabs worshipped some idols that you speak of but they were only 3 of 360.Is it true then that Allah was the moon god? You continue to show your ignorance of indifference to the truth. "Allah" means "The One and Only God." The Pagan Arabs of that time did not have "One" God. They had 360 of them. Never was any of the gods named "Allah" since it contradicts the very idea of polytheism! But I know that makes no difference to you since you're only asking these questions for one reason and it's not to learn. Is it true that the cresent moon is everywhere in Islam? According to Islam, we do not use signs or symbols as representation of our religion. Mosques are decorated with "God" and not symbols or signs. Why? Because placing signs and symbols everywhere can lead people over time to worship that sign or symbol instead of the one true God. The crescent moon found on some countries' flags is in no way derived from what you are suggesting. It has no Islamic basis (you won't find mention of it in the Qur'an or ever advocated by the Prophet). It was borne from the fact that Jews were identified by David's star, Christians by the cross, and some Muslims apparently adopted a crescent as representation. But as I stated earlier, that is not from Islam or advocated by it in any way. If the people are being led astray in those acts, it is by no fault of Islam, but of their own.Is it true that even Ramadan begins and ends with the cresent moon? Ramadan is a holy month in which Muslims give up food and drinks during the daytime as an act of worshipping God. We find numerous times in the NT mention of Jesus (Pbuh) fasting and praying. Muslims are no different. They fast and pray for the sake of God. Ramadan is a month of the Islamic Calendar (the first month) and begins when that month starts. Is it true that Muhammad declared himself to be Allah's prophet? He did not "declare." The Qur'an confirmed that he was a Messenger sent by God and as I stated here numerous times, offers evidence and proof (empircal proof) of that assertion (something many people here don't seem to care about - proof). Of course, no one here, as you clearly demonstrate, is interested in hearing about proof but of attacking Islam. Such is the ways of those that have no interest in opening their minds. May the Peace and Blessings of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful, be upon you. Ray
