To all:

The web site release refers to processing 10 tons of ore per day by July 15th and the official news release refers to 15 tons per day. This can be confusing on two counts. I checked with Twiford and he reports:

At the mill they can leach upwards of 15 tons per day without difficulty (of course providing the ball mill is operating). This does not necessarily mean that they can process the reduction of 15 or even 10 tons of material through the resin columns each day. Twiford feels that they should start slowly with the reduction of 5 tons per day running through the resin columns and build up step wise to 15 tons.

It is important to communicate this clarification precisely because it would very easy to conclude from the releases that the tonnage numbers referred to the resin processing. While this was not the intention of the release it is reminiscent of the many projections of anticipated results which have not come about. GPGI , which, with the current release has reported a quantum step forward, does not need to give the impression, inadvertent as it may be, of another projection which fails to happen when promised even though it will develop later.

So, the suggestion is not to expect processing through the resin columns at the 15 ton level right off the bat. I for one will be thrilled with production beginning at 5 tons.

Twiford told me he would do some calculations regarding the time factor for processing resin. When I have them I1ll report them. But I1m not going to predict when I1ll get these numbers from Twiford.

Regards, Ed

Ed,
You said, <<because when GPGI begins serious production, and this is not too far away, Stillwater will be driven out of business. >>

You may be right, and I've heard similar statements from several different desert dirt threads, but the reality is Stillwater was going up while most DD were going down significantly and some were disappearing altogether. sigh.
