At daily volume of $800,000,000, brokers amd market makers are probably making 16,000,000 per day on transaction revenue alone.

Mrkt cap of AMZN is now over $5 billion.

I know that estmiated earnings for next two years are negative but AMZN expected to be
profitable in year 2000 with some earnings. Assuming all this goes exactly as most optimistic
scenario envisions, the p/e for the company will be something like 5000.

What are we missing?

Well, what you are failing to realize is that story stocks trade on romance. When reality hits (maybe in a year or so), AMZN should trade in the low $30s. Remember Iomega, Netscape, Presstek, etc.., reality hit them....

Doug,

Nothing except fundamentals were thrown out the window 60 points ago. I have this habit of investing on fundamentals. Got kind of squeezed due to a stock going so far from its fundamentals. Fortunatly, I am in still in the game and feel more confident the fall is beginning.
