I went to the AMEX site... (amex.com) and looked up AMAT options for today... the most active AMAT option was the August 1998 100 CALLS... 1,726 contracts traded...needless to say the contract closed at 1/16th....I hope this is a misprint

Talk about stupid speculation but that's like giving your money away...NO WAY applied goes from 29--->100 in two months...

clue me into why someone would deploy such a stupid market strategy...these obviously weren't covered calls since the premium you get woulndt amount to anything...yikes...
