So why wouldn't they just go with IMT-2000 at 384k to 600k bps rates, which is exactly what cable modems do today and have it "on always ON EVERYWHERE" where your IP address just tays active while you move from locaitons to location. My calbe modem today is on always, so no new technology here, but the pain is that it is wired to my PC desktop and when I want to go to some other locaiton, I am stuck with this big wire hanging onto it.

what if I can do 600k bps everywhere all the time?
