In the COKE case, a mistake.
In the INTEL case, product diversification.

I'm not sure you can compare chips and soda pop, but you have the beginnings of a good lunch.

I enjoyed your post <g>. There is a sleezy sales technique called
"bait and switch." Perhaps we can call this one "beat and switch."
