Chip, I don't know enough about these guys to agree or disagree. However, keep in mind that a year and a half is a large part of their successful history. As I understand it (and please anyone correct me if I'm wrong), their early history was a "chip in wait for a killer app". Quake created the demand and they've worked very hard to culture and grow it with the industry. I don't think that great engineering alone would ever succeed by itself - you need the marketing, production quality, pricing, contacts/partnerships, etc. My understanding is that Tarolli and company worked hard pioneering this stuff. But your right, their current niche is not enough. The technology will change (set top boxes, cable internet access, all in one chips, super consoles, gaming only pc's, who knows what else). Banshee is their first good step to reach out to the masses. Rampage will bring it on home. Joe C.

Chip,

Do you know when exactly V2 started shipping?

My question specifically is, during how much of the March quarter was V2 shipping?
