Again, I'm not trying to promote the notion that all microcontroller processes are identical, or that mainframe software is identical to the logic imbedded in a microcontroller.

You stated that an embedded chip "refers to a collection of controlling logic that oversees, controls, monitors some larger system. This infers a highly specialized and often nonstandard architecture". My point is that it is still logic. The fact that it is specialized and non-standard reinforces the tendency for the fix to be provided by the orignal manufacturer.

What precludes CA and CSC from providing services in this area? These are huge companies. I happen to know that one of them is subcontracted as part of a team to evaluate and correct potential Y2K problems in a mission critical environmental control subsystem for DOD "flight" hardware.

I don't care to one-up other posters by spilling my technological guts every time I post. You can consider me silly and uninformed if you wish. I understand the problem and I understand it is different from microprocessors and I understand that it's complex and I understand that there are a lot of connectivity and integration issues, etc., etc. So what? So do a lot of other people.

All I'm saying is that I haven't read anything that indicates that TAVA has some proprietary technology that is going to make investors instantly wealthy because everyone will be beating down the doors to throw money at them.

There may be a lot of potential business in this area. If so, you can be sure that there will be a lot of people pursuing the money.
