Ed, Per your post: "My reason for mentioning what I did was that I hear many young people talking on various SI threads of putting all the funds they can get their hands on into one stock. They seem to feed on info from people close to company officials or others that convince them that the stock is almost a sure thing, to the extent of not understanding why any one would be selling the stock with all the great potential they see in the future for the stock."

Your right that in ways that those of us that basically only own one stock are setting a bad example for some, I'll admit that. I would like to add something that might come as a surprise to some. Joe Murphy worries about those of us that are putting most/all of our chips in this one and really feels that responsibility, he has mentioned this several times to me in fact. He says it's ok for him to be risking all, but it bothers him that some of his shareholders are so heavily invested. If you go back through Joe's past notes, you will also find he has suggested several times that we be reasonable. Ironically, it's the fact that he does feel this type of responsibility that helps me sleep at night and has kept me heavily invested in this one. (G) I do believe within his powers that Joe Murphy will treat us well in the long run and that is all I ask from the man..to just do his best.

James

Ed, thanks for your valuable and sobering posts. Not all of my eggs are in the DCI basket, but nevertheless, I'm still anticipating one hell of an omelet. ggg.

Thanks again for your posts Ed,

I probably should rephrase my statement to all of my account is in DCTC. My wife and I also have diversified 401K's, a decent sized savings account and I have money in my companies stock purchase plan, not to mention the equity we have in our home. So if I examine my overall "portfolio" I have very little at risk in DCTC.

I agree that some people my age put too much money in one place. It just so happens that with the market going up the way it has the past few years, that they probably have been very successful doing so. I am real curious to see what happens to everyone's investment style (myself included) if we have a down market.

Have a great weekend! (I myself will be indoors because there is a chance it will reach 100 degrees in Chicago on Saturday)
