From Pluvia quoting the May 20, 1997 release:

<<that the enlightened level of activity in hard-tissue lasers >>

The actual release used the phrase "heightened level of activity in hard-tissue lasers"

I don't think anyone expected that 100% of those expressing interest would become buyers. When CC expected to "hear from one to two percent as 'early adopters' in the first 12 to 18 months" it was a reference to a marketing penetration concept for a technology product, and based on other company comments, anticipating FDA approval for children. It could not seriously be taken as an expectation of sales of 1,200 to 2,400 units. If they have incoming orders for 300 during any 3-month period ending November 1998, it would more than meet my expectations and also answer those who still think that the May 20 release was fraud and fiction. That release BTW concluded with the typical forward-looking statement caution.

To put this in even better context, 4 days prior, ADLI had put out a release to try to defend its own stock price, and claiming basic patents on the Er:YAG laser in dentistry. Premier's response was on May 19 regarding patent issues, and then on May 20 regarding expressions of interest, warrant proceeds and expectations of production capability (which turned out to be accurate). If Premier had said nothing May 20 it would have been stupid marketing. They were able to get publicity on publicity. Reading all the releases of that time period, I see nothing wrong, and certainly no fraud or fiction, in Premier's May 20 release.
