Hey I just got some funny mail from MSFT! They sent me the mailer for the Business Applications Conference 98 to:

Chaz Hughes
S F Academy of Hypnosis

(Maybe they think I'm in the PR spin game? Or maybe that I've been hypnotized myself, by Netscape?)

Pretty funny, huh? I never use the Chaz nickname for buying software or talking to them about anything, and they previously have always used my company name and my name from my credit card when mailing me, so I guess they read me here. Nice to know somebody there has a sense of humor. Either that or the hypnosis academy integrates a lot of MSFT apps into their vertical applications and they just got us mixed up somehow on their consultants list. It could happen. As Judy Tennuna used to say.

Recently, a brother in law who works there that I haven't heard from in ten years (owes me money since college) called me out of the blue to tell me what a great place it is and how nice all the people are and what great attention to quality they all practice and how he is working 7 days a week. That was the whole conversation. I don't think anybody asked him to call or even think he knows what SI is, but I do think they hynotized *him* pretty quickly. Kind of a Stepford Programmers thing. ;-)

Bemusedly,
Chaz
