Thanks again, for some fine reporting, Steve.

Any ideas on whose SS7 compliant gear LVLT are using? Sounds to me like they are taking on the roll of an ITXC or other consortia driven approaches, attempting to meld the disparities of many (or all) of the highly-regarded and well-accepted approaches. Is this your assessment?

BTW, for what it's worth, XCOM's previous life to the best of my knowledge was that of a DATA CLEC, not a voice provider, so I would have to surmise that their major thrust into SS7 is being driven by their new parent, almost from the outset. This is not to suggest that they had no SS7 links before (I'm not privy to that extent), only that it is now more crucial to their role as LVLT's "bridge" entity.

A curious point here is that SS7 compliance takes them out of the realm of being a pure ISP or information services provider, where ISP waivers are concerned. That is to say, they now become a bona fide voice carrier hooked into the PSTN, as opposed to an exempt information services provider or ISP.

What are the regulatory implications of such a move, with regard to the access charge dilemma? Any idea or opinions on this aspect of what they are doing? Do they know something, perhaps, that the rest of us don't?

Regards, Frank C.
[ps - the H&Q forecasts (which I fully enjoyed reading, tnx) from earlier this year are quickly becoming yesterday's news, only six months later. Any thoughts on that one?]

Steve, thanks for the update - I was wondering what you thought of Crowe's presentation. He stressed the same points in the shareholder's meeting a couple of weeks ago. Regards, Ken.
