You may educate yourself more by reading the follow-up (if you can): exchange2000.com I would even agree with you: a bunch of microcode patches makes up a whole forest that drags the PC performance down. Soon all Pentium instructions will be emulated using rock-solid load and store commands only. This will manifest an ultimate conversion of Intel into a post-RISC architecture! They will call it "Merced-Too". :) :) Ali
