I'd go longer to play the (probable) split. It may not come until earnings or later. Don't count on the annual meeting (although I wouldn't bet against that, either).

DMP:
I am also playing the Aug calls for the same reasons as given by LOD. If it was a perfect world Dell would proceed up at $.3/day as it has in the past putting it at about 101 on July 17.
If it gets near 100 by meeting date, then it will probably hanky-
panky around on the 15 th and 16th, because some shareholders who
are not as informed as thread members, will be nervous about what
MD might say. And also 100 may be a bit of temporary barrier.
At noon on Friday the 17th, after Mikie discusses the 4x industry
average growth, the 100+% growth in portable sales, the progress on
new factories, and answers a few questions on ASP's,the phones to brokers may be very busy and Dell should go up but there is only
a few hours left on the July options, too fast for me.
(The 100 I mention here is just a ref for discussion, could be
anything between 95 and 112 depending on outside real world factors)

July 100 calls

Dennis,

re any thoughts on July 100 or 105 calls?

Can't tell whether you are talking about buying or writing from your statement.

FWIW, I have learned that selling calls going into earnings or annual meeting is EXTREMELY risky -- IF you wish to keep your shares.

I'm kind of hoping that DELL takes a dip this month because I want to buy some more AUG, NOV, or 2001 calls.

DELLish, 3.
