Long-Awaited IPO: Interplay Goes Public
From mmwire.com

Interplay Entertainment [IPLY] Friday went public, offering 5m shares of common stock, trading at $5.50/share.

Over the course of several weeks, Interplay reduced the size of its IPO partly because of difficulties other interactive entertainment companies have had on Wall Street, "The Los Angeles Times" reported Thursday.

Interplay officials declined comment as the company remains in a quiet period regarding the IPO.

The company's documents, filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission May 7, said the offering would total 6.25m shares at an estimated $8-$10/share. Documents filed June 1 and 4 indicated the same. Documents dated June 16 said 5.0m shares would be offered at $6-$7/share. Two days later new documents reduced the estimated offering price to $5.50-$6.50/share.

Interplay is traded on the Nasdaq national market under "IPLY," which will be listed in our MMWire Stock Watch. (Interplay, Brian Fargo, 949/553-6655)
