>>>And that's the danger of having too much of a doctrine in any area--that doctrine clouds the fellowship in the joy of being saved with others. Now, that I know to be fact, and that I know I've stayed far, far from thus far and plan to continue to do so, although others can do whatever they want.<<<

(2 Tim 2:15 KJV) Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

"Be prepared in season and out"

Jane these are my thoughts about wanting to study.

>>>DCF still has something in his mind that is not clear between the way that he and DLL feel. Why they can't just put is aside, I don't know.<<<

Jane, to be sure, Donny and I don't always agree on everything. But it has not kept us from maintaining probably one of the better "SI" relationships, don't you think? I will admit, when everyone was arguing about Jewish things on the A. God thread, I thought of the Letter to Galatia. I will also say that Donny and I were going to do the study privately but we both agreed to put it here if you agreed. BUT I don't want to be the cause of the breakdown of this oasis. We can do it privately or if desired study one of the other letters.

In fact as I studied Galatians last night and today, I am not sure Donny if we really want to do this, cause of the "tone" of Pauls letter......

Comments??????please

dan

Dear Jane,
The basic 10 are necessary for civilization to exist. However when they questioned Jesus about the law He quoted Deuteronomy 6 Starting with the Shema Hear o'Israel the Lord our God is one, you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart all your mind and all your strength and the second one to love your neighbor as yourself from another part of the law. So He saw the entire law as beneficial on a personal level. Leviticus is where we have the sexual laws and what is detistable to God in that area that is highlighted in general in the NT. The law of Christ is the law of Moses just not the law of the Rabbi's. If we do not care about the OT laws then we can not specifically say a man sleeping with a man as he does a woman is wrong.
I think most believers are going to vary in their feelings about the law as God is working in them. This more than any other area of scripture needs to be respected as where God has each of us. I think there is a driving desire to reason the scriptures and be one in Yeshua and that is why we all come here but some things are never going to be totally agreed on for we are all individuals.
By the way the law Paul speaks of so often is the Rabbi's added laws to Gods laws. The entire Bible is good for our instruction and edification and I can not stand it when anyone speaks about any part not being good or having a value to all of us. There are stunmbling blocks and the law is one of them. There is no condemnation in the Lord but there should be a desire to grow to be more like Him and He is the fulfilment of the law. I hope you understand what I am saying for I have total peace in how you DCF and DLL are with this issue all I do is share what the Lord is doing with me.
May His light shine brightly in each of us,
Nancy
