What I mean...

Is that it is proving to be a very HOT summer coming,
and the demand for power = the demand for energy...

This means, IMO, that the energy sector is going to
be making a BIG comeback in the next few months.

Call me crazy, but what sometimes happens after something
hits serious lows????

penni, personally I'm not quite sure which direction the energy sector will go in the short term.

What I do know is this...
If my land is in that pile of possible acquisitions Overstreet and Uselton are currently thumbing through, the short term trends in the energy sector are likely to determine the price I will sell it to Mountain Energy for. If I were to see this sector starting to rebound, so would my asking price for x acres.

In a nutshell...
It is in the best interests of the company and its LONG TERM share holders that the energy sector remains stagnant till at least the end of the summer, so that the initial capital investment is primed to be as profitable as possible.

penni - I think that gas and oil will go in different directions. From what I have read the forecasts for natural gas are much better than the forecasts for oil. Oil producers will be reporting more earnings disappointments and the recovery won't come soon. The OPEC cartel has proven that its members cheat on each other so production cuts won't stick. With the Asia recession demand will remain slack.

If you are playing the energy sector, gas is the place to be (IMHO)
