When ever the mention of "the cure for cancer may be found in X co's product" will be great fodder for the networks, papers, etc. I agree with you that if lgnd's two new molecules pan out and the work as hoped, they too will be block busters once it is understood how they work and why they are important. The public just doesn't understand or wouldn't understand what these two molecules do if it's presented to them in the abstract. I'm guessing if the press got ahold of this and presented it as a possible new way to treat post menapausal woman or whatever with no or little side affects, then maybe we'd see a pizzaz in the stock.
