Interesting, Shawn. It would also be interesting to know the profit margin CompUSA makes on a Compaq vs. a HP.

Anyone know a person who works at CompUSA? I'm wondering if they: 1.) Work on commission; 2.) Get raises based on the volume they sell--and especially the volume of certain products [with higher profit margins].

The CompUSA, SAMs Club, Office Depot, etc. problem is not just a Compaq problem. Most of the people who work for these clubs know everything for $6 a hour! My brother-in-law (who works at CompUSA) was arguing with me last week that the new AMD K6-2 processor runs games faster than an Intel PII 400mhz because of its new 3D instructions... I never could explain to him that in order to take advantage of new instructions, compilers had to be upgraded and applications had to be recompiled! Imagine what he is telling others!
