What's the thinking about the announcement of a buyback: <"Additionally, the maker of devices for computer networks announced a 2 million share buyback."> Doesn't this bode ill for a split? I don't think that CSCO would announce a buyback just before a split, so I think it's a sign that the split is being put off until '99.

Ibexx
Yes, I believe you said you bought at around 49 pre-splited
price and the stock kept dropping to 45 and back up.
What are the stocks people are selling but you are buying
now?

"but a few of us brave souls snatched up CSCO shares at $33-35 (split adjusted for 3:2) while being flamed by nearly all the technical traders."

Loved it. I was flamed as bad as anyone, and continue to hold the stock I piled into from last February up until the turn in early may.I have traded a bit in between.Everyone was convinced that the stock was going to 24, split adjusted. Remember the network "blood" thread..what a terrible joke.Tried to help there but everyone kept lowering the entry point.

I remember that bump, Ibexx. Prior to that bump is when you and I and a few others here really loaded up. What a no-brainer! Except, my avg price is around $40.
