>> But If you suggest that you can use any funnymental measure to
time a entry or an exit, sure would like to see that study.<<
No I am not saying this.

>> Can I buy any stock that has a PSR between 1.25 and 2.20 today and expect 73% of them will increase on an average of 29.1 %?<<
No.

>> Say your PSR, did it have to have it only on the arbitrary day you buy, or does it have to maintain it or better?<<
The PSR was evaluated once, prior to the starting date of the test period.

>> What was max drawdowns? <<
I don't know. I had no reason to evaluate draw down.

>> What happened to the other 30-40% that lost money?<<
I don't know. If you would like to pursue this further I can e-mail you a copy of the list.

>> Is the system that you buy on first trading day of year and sell on last? <<
No. James P. O'Shaunessy the gentlemen who popularize the idea of buying 50 stocks with the lowest PSR says this method will work with any starting date. After that every year on the anniversary of the starting date you make up a new list with 50 stocks with the lowest PSR. You sell the stocks in your portfolio that are not on the list and add to your portfolio the stocks in the list that are not in your portfolio.

>> Were there any other filters applied to population?<<
No

>> were zack's stocks filtered?
Not that I know of. There were 6046 stock in the database and 4583 with PSR data.

>> Have you ever looked at how stocks whose symbols start with a "Z" perform.<<
No

>> BTW: what was your momentum measure?<<
QRS

Closing Comments

I don't know if Gozongo and Brookelise were serious when they derided the usefulness of fundamental data in selecting stocks or making a comment that was meant to be funny. If they meant to be funny then I suggest we drop this subject because my response is not appropriate to the situation.

Otherwise I am glad Gary added fundamental data to version 2 of Quotes Plus and I for one find it very useful.
