That delay gives potential customers less of a reason to abandon their Merced plans.

Sun had another golden opportunity - and it muffed its chance.

Sun will still maintain their very high end server business - their Solaris is an exceptional OS.

But Sun is porting Solaris to Merced - a key benefit for Intel.
