Steve,

They mean partner with Cyrix.. common.. you did listen to the CC didn't you?

Well, why do you think they are adopting IBM's 0.25u process and not National's? From the bits and pieces we've heard, the two processes are different. If Acer was "partnering" with Cyrix for, basically, second sourcing MediaPC production, I would have thought that they would have wanted National's process. But, since Acer is targeting a much wider foundry business than just Cyrix processors, I can understand their decision. What this may tell us is that Cyrix processors will be migrated to IBM's real 0.25u process by the end of the year when Acer will come on-line with their compatible process. In which case, the speed bins between IBM, Acer, and National should be comparable. I guess they have thought all this through.

Pravin.
