Flows Into Market

Overall, demand for U.S. stocks has been brisk. About $5.3
billion flowed into U.S. stock funds in the week ended Wednesday,
up from $2.8 billion in the prior week when stocks dropped,
according to Trim Tabs Financial Services Inc., which tracks
mutual fund money flows.

''Portfolio managers are realizing that the sky is not
falling,'' said George Mairs, president of Mairs & Power Inc., a
St. Paul, Minnesota, money-management firm that oversees $1
billion. ''And we got a decent correction, particularly in Nasdaq
stocks, so that's what they're buying.''
