I have followed these guys for a while but have been too lazy to start a thread. It is a great story.

They are trading a P/E of about 7 which is fantastic considering they are growing. Yes they make money and thier expansion is controlled so that they do not get themselves in too much debt.

I crunched out the numbers and look at their EPS growth - great story and a nice alternative to shopping in Future Slop. I was analyzing FS a few years ago and watched the analyst ratings turn about face. FS's strategy of in your face high pressure sales tactics are not sustainable and they do not get the reapeat customers as is witnessed by their same store sales.

My understanding is that the President and key shareholder may own or control closely up to 50% of SHW - It is lightly traded making it a unwise flip but longer term - who knows - CTR.A is Canadian Tire Corp that trades at $43 with EPS of 20ish giving it a big market cap.

maybe someday SHW will be a National Chain???

Good luck. I do not own shares - just an observer

Dave, I have a small position, I increased it slightly last week after attending the annual meeting. Got a pretty good feeling from them that everything look rosy, they expect to do better than their 0.14 last year, and good chance for a TSE listing. I still have not been to one of their stores (1 only 3KM from me), but before increasing my positon I would want to check out their outlets,,,,, My only concern is the rapid expansion(always major challenges), however they seem to be handling it very well, but it is not easy...JMHO..

Let me know if you have been to any of their stores and your thoughts?

Some positives are
1. My feeling that 1 or more of the chains(Eatons,Bay) may get out of appliances.
2. They indicated that they have been pushing warranties more(high margin)
3. They have been getting into servicing, and recently awarded the service rights for(think it was moffet or the one that never breaks) but don't have my notes here..
