What I mean is that someone needs to put some focus back into the Republican party. The Libertarian party will attract some of the core conservatives that are needed by the Republicans. Many conservative Republicans splintered off and joined the Perot gang and look what that got us for a president. By the year 2004 we will have three parties, Republicans, Perotistas and Libertarians that have similar views but split their votes three ways vs the Democrats.

One thing that badly hurt the Republican party was when Newt tried to implement the "Contract with America" that the voters had endorsed through the Republican sweep of '94. The voters, influenced by the liberal press, spun 180 degrees and backed Clinton and gutted the Republican will. A sad situation.
