The stock is still rated an avoid by Market Edge Second Opinion. However the TA story has indeed improved. These are the exact words you will find written at Market Edge:

Stock now experiencing technical improvement. Market risk is moderate but decreasing for buyers. STOCK SHOWS MILDLY IMPROVING CONDITIONS SCORE = 2 IF YOU ARE SHORT THIS STOCK HOLD POSITION; DO NOT INITIATE NEW SHORT SALE.STOCK IS NOT A BUY CANDIDATE. The buy stop point is 33.30 so there is very little room for the stock to retreat before longs should consider selling the stock as it is still has an avoid rating.

Someone asked why COMS went up so much so fast over at the Yahoo AVEI thread. Two reasons: the market itself has recovered from a sell off especially in the mid to larger cap area like with COMS which exceeded earnings estimates.

One more time! AVEI has no interest in being acquired! They have made it very plain that they are looking at 10 to 12 different acquisition possibilities of their own. The stock dropped not because earnings were not spectacular but because of fear of competition in a one product market. In my opinion Vector Vest does a great job of determining when a stock is a buy. However they are sometimes early in their recommendations so whoever buys here might want to be patient. AVEI will be buying one or more companies to help round out their future product line. If Wall Street likes the acquisitions analyst upgrades will follow and the stock will rise to meet and eventually exceed the value VectorVest assigns to this stock.

Remember Market Edge Second Opinion is purely based on Technical analysis while VectorVest looks at many more fundamental factors. Here are URL's for both Market Edge Second Opinion and VectorVest. Both services require you to pay for their use unfortunately:

Anyone wanting to follow some of the due diligence I put together in a newsletter I write on some of the stocks I follow only has to ask by e mailing me at jfhenken@ix.netcom.com. It's free, no strings attached, and someday soon I might even be an AVEI stockholder!
