Zeus Machine cont..multiboot Win/95/98..multimonitor Win98

Status

The machine boots to Win95 from the Primary IDE drive and Win98 from the SCSI ID 2 drive. It has a single monitor setup in Win95 and a dual monitor setup in Win98.

I did note some sluggishness in the Win98 multimonitor mode. I will get a better handle on this after I play for awhile.

Procedure

Just like Dirk Indicated.

The whole process went without a hitch (KOD..Knock On Wood) I booted to Win98 and Installed AGP mobo drivers supplied with the Iwill mobo. Then shut down and installed the Matrox AGP Productiva card. I turned on the machine and Win98 found new hardware. I inserted the Matrox CD and Win 98 installed new drivers. It had trouble finding something so I skipped something. I did not think it would work as I have not found the Matrox 98 drivers yet.

The first message on the second monitor was that AGP had been properly installed and directed me to Control Panel/Settings/Display. In Display settings I saw two monitors. I clicked on the one that was not working yet and marked enable..Voila.

I have not yet found any advanced monitor manipulation functions (snapping dialog boxes to specific monitors etc.). Perhaps more things will show up with the yet to be found Matrox 98 drivers.

I booted to Win95 and the device manager indicated that one PCI display card was not working properly or had no drivers. I clicked disable in this hardware setup and closed out. I booted a couple times to Win98 and Win95 and sytems function in both OS's.

Next

I will clone the two working OS setups to their respective KOT Drives.

I had to borrow a monitor from my other machine. I do not think that will go over too well with the other family members. So off to look at new monitors...I hope I don't buy a 21 in:)
