Synchro - I tend to agree with you. During one of my college jobs, I was required to join a union. The only thing it did for me was collect my union dues and prevent opportunity. While I had received numerous customer accolades, the company was powerless to do anything for me because of my job classification (ps - the company did take care of me in other ways).

I always thought of a pilot as a rather prestigious position. If it were me, I wouldn't demean it by saying I was a card-carrying member.
My opinion only.

Correct me if I'm wrong ....but you might be displaying a little selfishness here?

What do you think....if the pilots fly faster, or cut corners...then they get their own raises,... or maybe if they fill the plane up with cheaper gas...then they can work their own deals. Here's another idea...they can load the plane themselves so FDX doesn't need as many people??

In case you didn't know it, all the major airlines are unionized.

You are questioning someone's right to negotiate their terms of employment? Sorry, not everyone can be like you.

You sound a little gullible here.....when it comes to corporate America.

If that flies in the face of any position you might have in FDX ...well isn't that too bad. It's a tough world, everyone has to eek out their little piece of it, even you.

By the way, I am not a pilot or employee at FDX....just sticking up for these guys.
