George,

From the May 5, 1998 issue of The RESOURCE INDICATOR.

"In Aber's prefeasibility study, mine site operating costs are estimated at C$59 per tonne of kimberlite for years 3 through 9 and C$66 per tonne of kimberlite over the life of the mine. The life of mine costs include the underground mining phase as well as open pit. The mine site operating costs do not include sorting, valuation, marketing, royalties, reclamation and corporate costs. Most of Winspear's dyke of interest lies under Snap Lake and thus would represent an underground mining situation. Winspear's direct mining costs are thus expected to be higher than Aber's due to the underground nature of the mine. However, milling costs will be lower due to a smaller plant. WSP's overhead cost will also be lower due to a faster permitting process, less lead time, and lower management costs. From a speculators point of view, and from my consultations, one would expect costs to be in the area of $70 to $100 per tonne for the level of tonnage the dyke of interest is able to yield."

Sincerely,
Sudhir Khanna, P.Eng.
