don't know if they're any easier on your hand. <<

I use a mouse at work and a trackball with my home computer setup. In an ergonomically designed computer station with proper chair and mouse table at the right level I prefer a mouse (not all mice are equal) For mouse intensive applications with a lot of precision pointing a standard mouse is the way to go.

I have tried trackballs in the past and never liked them.

I really like my new Microsoft Intellipoint Trackball. It is very comfortable in my hand. I can use it in several locations (desktop, on my belly, or palm the unit). I adjust the speed and acceleration to max. This way I can access the entire screen with a small rotation of the ball. I have a trackball at work that has speed settings but no acceleration settings. It requires too much movement of the ball to be useful.

I held the Logitec trackball in my hand. It was not as comfortable as the Microsoft Trackball. I am not a Microsoft fan but I think they make the best mice and trackballs.
