ESOP, employee stock option plan...When employees work hard, or to incentivate them, employers use stock option plans. Unlike Jim who is SOL for not coming back with the coffee. Stock options given for service or motivation are usually vested ((become exercisable(you can buy the stock) over a period of time)). This encourages saving, motivates more loyalty to the company, and keeps the employee there longer.Has the added advantage of supplying capital to the company when the employee exercises the option......Speaking of which, where are you Jim, did you opt out with Candy.
