Steve,

Cyrix is ready to talk about its next star, M3. Here is the email that I received about the 15 million transistors M3 starting from 600Mhz!

It is the time for Cyrix to take a good lesson from Intel to hype its new products.

Cyrix Announces 'Good News' #1:
Wyse Technology Signs Million unit Deal!

Cyrix is excited to announce an agreement with Wyse Technology for one million processors over the next three years. The companies have joined forces to deliver a powerful, new low-cost terminal based on the Cyrix MediaGX(TM) processor. In addition, Cyrix and Wyse have agreed to work together on future desktop and information appliance product designs, including "PC-on-a-chip" technology.

Recently, Packard Bell signed an agreement to design Cyrix M II(TM) processors into their new line-up of the Multimedia 550 and 750 series of desktop PCs, while Compaq is using Cyrix MediaGX processors in its popular Presario 1230 and 1232 notebook computers.

Cyrix Announces yet MORE Good News!
The new M II-333 and future product roadmap...

After positioning the M II-300 against the Pentium II processor a month ago, Cyrix followed it up with the release of the M II-333 last week at PC Expo. The M II-350 expected to ship in August, and a 400 MHz version is slated for production in January of 1999. Toward the end of 1999, look for Cyrix's seventh generation processor, which will incorporate new data flow architecture and run at clock speeds starting at 600 MHz.

Cyrix is also developing "PC on-a-chip" technology, to enable the sub-$500 PC market. This technology puts the functions of an entire PC on one piece of silicon. Expect the first sub-$500 PCs to emerge in the middle of 1999.
