Hi Christine and welcome back! SI can be awfully addicting and I commend you for taking a healthy break. It's a beautiful day here and after I finish this post, I'm going to go out and enjoy it. ;-)

The Ask God thread is a strange place. So many "True Believers" with so many different versions of "The Truth". Think I'll revert to occasional curious lurking over there. There's really not much to share with people who can only spout dogma in response to reasonable questions. Let them argue with each other about who is and who isn't going to Hell.

I'll post again this evening about politics, ideology, and environmental issues. There are no easy answers, unfortunately. And I think I'll start a new thread here in the Coffee Shop to discuss Libertarian principles in depth. Ideas about political philosophy tend to pop up on stock talk threads and annoy those who want to stick to market issues.

On a somewhat whimsical and personal note, my soul was born to be a sailor. I grew up on the beach and love the ocean. Thick salty air, with a little seaweed and fishy odor mixed in, is pure perfume. I remember days when I was a kid, walking along lonely north coast beaches, and the sun was bright and the warm east wind blew white veils back from the tops of the waves. I love the beauty of nature so much that sometimes it makes me shiver.
