Zeuspaul mentioned his ergonomic setup--probably the
most important thing. I rearranged my setup for awhile
after I got a new monitor and fx-marble, but before I
got a new desk, my elbow has been on and off numb for
the past two months.

Surprisingly easy to pinch or damage a nerve using these
things...that said, to answer the original question, I
have not been overly impressed with the marble, and I sort
of miss my old boring Kensington. I think once you suffer
a couple weeks of learning the feel of a trackball, they
are pretty good, the fx comes with extra buttons, one
which can be set to trigger scrolling down. On the other
hand, if my elbow stays numb now that I've re-arranged
things again, I'll probably change my mind, hehe.

off topic, finally got my new machine, after waiting for
prices to come down to my point. Not the latest thing
with the BX chipset, but I only wanted to spend about a
grand. With tax I paid $1100, here is what the clone shop
sells the components for (note that alot of the little
stuff I threw all together, prices are good +/- $20),
this is without monitor, altogether I spent $1500.

Intel PII-266................$200
64Megs sdram................ $100
Samsung 6.4G.................$200
Mitsumi 32x
Floppy
Case--rather nice, large tower
Keyboard
yamaha game/sound/cheap speakers
mouse........................$200
Eon Picasso 8meg i740 2d/3d..$100
Abit LX6 mainboard...........$100
W95 oem 2.5..................$100
Tax..........................$100

I would give you the benchmarks, 3d Winbench for instance,
but they make you post tons of information about your PC
to be legal--I will say that it tests out quite well and
makes the comparable Dell's and Gateway machines look about
$600 over-priced to me.

Oh, I should say that the abit board makes it really
easy to take the 266 up to 333, nice, but I wont do
it til after my warranty expires--plus a year from now
I wont be risking a $200 cpu, they'll probably be
half that by then.
