Nice resin talks from everyone here.

Zeev, Are you meaning to use resin beds as the same meaning for resin columns ? They are not the same and I believe that columns would be used in these applications. As you pointed out already, some of the elements have to be pulled out prior to others for economical reasons. The resins can be manufactured to specifications and if Ag was not pulled out in the solution it would be a shame. I would like to correct one of your statements and that is that PCB facilities DO NOT discharge copper to the environment and if you know of any that are I strongly encourage you to contact the EPA. All chemicals and waste material is recycled and very closely monitored by OSHA. They are not even permitted to use trichlorethylene any longer for cleaning the boards.

Resins are the way the industry will go IMHO. It is faster, more efficient and more environmentally friendly. Just my 2 cents.
