For what it is worth I have a Presario 4814 that I used the Win98 Beta on since January 1998. Before I had this Beta version of Win98 I hated this computer, many crashes and lock ups. Had to do a complete restore at least once a month. Win98 Beta cured all these problems. No crashes and lock ups since I installed. I bought the final version and it installed with no problem. Computer is working fine. I also have Win98 on my Presario 1610 notebook and it is working fine. No problems on the Install for either machine. Some people have so much junk software on their machines that has been installed and taken off that all kinds of files are left behind. Maybe these are the people having trouble with the computers and Win98.
