The Cup is Brazil's, says Zagallo

PARIS, June 27 (AFP) - Brazil coach Mario Zagallo said his team will retain the World Cup after crushing Chile 4-1 on Saturday which put the four-times champions into the quarter-finals.

"We are going to win, we are going to go all the way," he said.

"The difference from the Norway defeat is that we went back to our original first-team formation," he added.

"We were a bit nervous at the beginning but when we scored we settled down to play some good football. We were very strong in the second half."

Chile striker Ivan Zamorano said they could not be disappointed at going out to the best team in the world.

"We had proved before we could match the best but tonight it was difficult against players like Ronaldo and Cesar Sampaio who could score at any minute. Once we conceded that first goal we lost concentration," he said.

Couldn't resist that fellow soccer fanimals

Hi Z,

Yes, Holland will humble the Yugos. As there will be another "come from behind" victory from "los Ratoncitos" against Germany. Sorry, Santa Klaus, but I think the ancient Teutonic legs will not last in the hot French sun. Oh, and yes, it looks like there will be quite a finale to the "Octavo de final" with the Argentina vs. England game. Looks like I'll be taking a long lunch on Tuesday.
