Chris - Of course there is always risk of lower prices in any stock, the whole market is subject to revaluation at any time (subject to news, financial outlook, and on and on...). The only thing that makes sense is to let your winners run, and cut your losses short. Nobody is perfect in stock selection. But, we should never get spooked by any short term variations. Everyone should do their homework and all due diligence. Track your stocks, stay up with the news, announcements, reports, etc. But there is also information overload, so the secret is the keep it simple, keep to the basics. There are so many indicators and trend-tracking methods they can be overwhelming and give a confusing picture of things. The newer momentum investors may be disappointed in results that take time to work out. Every time someone makes a quick sale for a few points, they have to (or should) factor in taxes and commissions. That person then most likely will be faced with a new challenge, picking another stock and paying more commission. With large discount commissions now prevailing, the temptation to trade is enhanced, and a person just jumps from the frying pay into the fire. Gambling is addictive for far too many. The fun and frenzy of trading will prevail over common sense. Hey, I've been through that. A fantastic year, followed by a real downer, and lucky to keep on an even keel, easy come-easy go! It took a number of years to overcome that foolishness. That is specifically why I have been so adamant about holding and growing with CYI. In fact, I am focused. Between CYI and OE, am not really paying much attention to other stocks. I want to keep on top of these and try to know them like the back of my hand. There are many, many thousands of stocks to chase after, but all in due time and at the right time. Am not worried about CYI, as an independent or a take-over. Figure either way we will benefit and that's the name of the game.
